The expansion kit is used with an existing solar RV kit to expand the system for more power. Usually a new regulator is not required. Example: an 80 watt solar module piuts out 4.58 amps, so therefore you can add more panels to that regulator, in fact, you can safely add 3 more panels to an existing system.
